I particularly enjoyed the article about Mary Z. Connaughton’s efforts to reform the financial practices on Beacon Hill. The overly optimistic assumptions currently being used by the Commonwealth as a guide to future pension obligations is truly risky.
In addition to using those risky assumptions, the Commonwealth is deep in debt, currently ranked number 2 in the nation in total debt per capita, as reported on CNN’s website:
